Trade and Customer Development Manager - FMCG


The client is looking for a Trading and Client Development Manager to join their team in Brussels. The company is a family-owned company that owns more than ⚠ iconic brands. The goal of this role is to ensure full implementation of the trade marketing strategy to all customers in designated channels and to be the primary contact for sales and marketing in developing company plans (bottom up). Develop a company plan (bottom-up). A trade marketing plan is developed based on deep consumer insights to deliver key sales stories for customer loyalty in key strategic areas (i.e. shelf, off-shelf, checkout, persistent placement, etc.).

Facilitate customer engagement by coordinating the availability of tools to evaluate, negotiate and monitor business opportunities. Business performance and opportunity identification. Gain a comprehensive view of the company's overall performance across categories and customers compared to competitors, and highlight key performance drivers, risks/challenges and opportunities at the customer level. Set up predefined reports that cascade to all relevant features along with key insights and recommendations. Define key business goals for all customer P&L statements and share with sales team to ensure overtime is tracked correctly.

Continuously monitor business performance at the customer level and highlight any issues/opportunities (e.g. sales, sales, Global Recruitment data, ad-hoc research and analysis, etc.) and build a strong mindset within his/her team to identify business across categories at the customer/channel level potential and improvements, and set accurate KPIs to quantify potential. An attitude of continuous improvement. Identify gaps in commercial business processes and tools to define specific and time-based action plans to ensure effective progressive changes in the way the company works (internally and with customers). Roll out new processes to the entire business and marketing community and ensure immediate and effective implementation.

User Management. Ensures his/her team is appropriately prepared to support the sales team in contract negotiations with customers and ensures specific linkages between customer opportunities and negotiation strategies. Ensure a suitable and effective end-to-end client proposal process is established, from preparing general sales stories to following up and following up with clients. Day-to-day management of advertising measures for individual clients (in the campaign builder tool), simulation of advertising measures, follow-up of specific KPIs and recommendations for actions. Post-deployment promotion analysis. Follow-up to custom activation.

Mastery in sales/marketing or other business areas. Minimum ⚠ years of experience in a sales (KAM role) and/or trade marketing role (category or account management). Applicants with brand manager experience are preferred. Understand FMCG dynamics and understand BeLux grocery retail and hard discount environments and/or e-commerce/impulse – out-of-home channels. Expertise in category management (promotions, assortment analysis, planograms, etc.). Analytical P&L management skills from category and customer performance to financial dimensions. Familiar with data management (Nielsen, Global Recruitment, etc.). Knowing the Global Recruitment is an advantage. A team player. Experienced communicator familiar with social interactions with internal (Sales - Catman - Marketing - Forecasting) and external customers.

Proficient in at least one national language - Dutch or French. Fluent English skills are a must. Depending on the client portfolio, you may take on management roles as an intern or VIE (external).
