Sr Environmental Program Manager , Extended Producer Responsibility

Global Recruitment is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead Extended Producer Responsibility compliance efforts for our channel partners. Extended Producer Responsibility is an environmental policy that requires manufacturers, manufacturers and retailers to take responsibility for their products and packaging at the end of their useful life by establishing systems for collecting and recycling post-consumer waste. The EPR compliance team ensures Global Recruitment transactions are properly recorded and recycled. This team coordinates regulated aspects of product transactions such as: shipping packaging, product recycling, customer information, etc. This includes creating programs to meet recycling requirements in multiple jurisdictions and monitoring compliance through distribution partners.

The team is also responsible for educating Global Recruitment customers about available recycling programs. This role requires coordinating and directing the efforts of multiple business teams to achieve environmental compliance processes. The Senior Program Manager has specific responsibility for promoting compliance programs for EU sales partners. You will develop strategies and mechanisms to support regulatory compliance and provide guidance to business teams and channel partners. This person will lead regulatory analysis, set and monitor metrics, and guide business teams in implementing Global Recruitment's recycling programs. You will work with internal and external partners including government agencies, consultants, recycling companies, business leaders and other key stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, particularly as they relate to Extended Producer Responsibility regulations and standards, a strong project management record, and experience leading teams on complex technical projects. You must be able to adapt to different roles, sometimes supporting, sometimes leading, and have the ability to "roll up your sleeves" to deliver on a plan. Design, coordinate and launch new EPR schemes that respond to EU legal needs and use hard data and evidence to drive decision-making. Create a strategic roadmap covering short- and long-term outcomes and initiatives to advance recycling compliance goals. Interact with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, recycling companies, and consultants, to communicate operations and assess risks. Identify and prioritize regulatory requirements and influence the partner team roadmap as needed. Coordinate with technical teams across time zones to develop new mechanisms that enable project teams to move faster and more efficiently.

We welcome candidates willing to work in one of the following locations: Luxembourg, LUX.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, engineering, environmental science, or related technical or quantitative field.
  • Experience in regulatory compliance management, project management or regulatory consulting.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Experience prioritizing and managing dynamic business environments.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, the ability to implement strategy into operations and sensitivity to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in business administration, economics, environment, or related technical or quantitative field.
  • Experience and knowledge of EU environmental regulations, preferably extended producer responsibility.
  • Experience interacting with stakeholders (regulators, vendors) and conducting analysis using quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, ever-changing/growing organization.
  • Ability to distill complex and ambiguous problems into clear action plans.
