Purchasing Manager

You have the opportunity to expand Global Recruitment' share in renewable energy, especially power. In this role, you will lead the way in the use of renewable energy over the coming decades. Innovation and curiosity are core aspects. Your contribution will impact all our (European) hydrocarbons and polyolefins plants. In this international role, you will be based in Mechelen and travel ⚠% of the time.

As we challenge ourselves to keep moving forward, here's what we expect from you:

• You will be responsible for the continued growth of Global Recruitment' renewable energy portfolio over the next decade and manage internal and external renewable energy relationships.
• You will explore renewable electricity opportunities in Europe and negotiate, structure and enter into long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) to help Global Recruitment compete successfully. You are responsible for all business, risk, relationship, compliance and administrative aspects of such agreements.
• You will build an extensive external network within the European renewable energy sector and an internal cross-functional network with all relevant stakeholders (Credit, Power Trading, Group Risk, Legal, Public Affairs, Communications, etc.).
• You will create and maintain a database of PPA information and preferred projects, and monitor market trends.
• Play an active support role in sustainability projects outside of PPAs related to renewable energy, utility integration and/or carbon emissions (Carbon Capture and Utilization).

To be successful in this role we also expect you to possess the following:

• We require a Master's degree from an accredited university, preferably in Business or Technical Engineering. Economic and financial knowledge is required. MBA or Masters in Management is considered a great advantage.
• Additionally, you have a proven track record (⚠+ years of experience) in European (energy) procurement and preferably have completed a Power Purchase Agreement. Expect to gain an in-depth understanding of Central, Western and Nordic energy markets, particularly the renewable energy industry and technologies. Project and risk management experience is an important advantage.
• Additionally, those around you will describe you as a business talent with realistic business acumen, appropriate patience, and a hands-on approach to entrepreneurship. Sustainability is a way of life where you dare to look beyond the status quo. High ethical standards and personal integrity are essential when working at Global Recruitment.
• Your English communication and expression skills are impeccable. Any other languages ​​(e.g. German, Dutch, Swedish, Finnish) are considered priority.
