Job Description: Research Engineer (M/F)
Our partner is a research center specializing in numerical methods and tools for technology innovation, focusing on designing competitive products. We are seeking a Research Engineer to support research in damage and fracture.
- Developing numerical methods and protocols for advanced simulation of damage and fracture behavior
- Utilizing XFEM for simulating fractures and computing stress intensity factors or J integral
- Enhancing lifetime predictions of metallic components and their application to concrete, composites, and additive manufactured parts
- Creating methodologies using advanced numerical tools for simulating damage and evolution of cracks in aeronautical, nuclear, and railways applications
- Interacting with numerical experts to enhance in-house simulation tools for practical real-world applications
- Promoting growth of scientific research and service through collaborations with businesses
Necessary Qualifications:
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Understanding of Computational Mechanics, Damage and Fracture Mechanics, fatigue of materials, numerical approaches, and large-scale experiments
- Experience with pre- and post-processing of structural mechanics, scripting, and programming
- Superior analytical abilities and proficiency in English
- Team player with a proactive and independent nature
Other considerations: Experience in creating numerical methods for computational physics, use of Finite Element Method and C++, fluency in French.
