We are looking for a Proposal Engineer for our client, specializing in the industrial, HRSG and boiler sectors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with all ISO processes and procedures.
  • This position works with the Sales Manager to leverage technical, organizational and customer knowledge to develop technical proposals and sell products and services.
  • After receiving the request for proposals, develop innovative solutions that meet the customer's requirements, negotiate with the customer to determine and agree on the technical requirements and complete the signed contract.
  • Meet sales and technical goals while adhering to company price/margin, schedule and design accuracy guidelines.
  • Sales Contact. Assist the Sales Manager in preparing presentations, qualification documents, and sales materials for potential customers.
  • Stay Current Conduct current market research to determine current and potential customer needs and develop effective applications of products and services.
  • Make product improvement suggestions directly to Sales Manager, if necessary.
  • Evaluate the marketability of products and services based on customers' technical and manufacturing requirements.
  • Promote the L&F Services to every potential client and promote your projects to employees, customers and internal suppliers.

Sales Process Proposal development for HRSG and OTB is done by a team consisting of Sales Managers responsible for the commercial aspects and Proposal Engineers responsible for the technical aspects.

Highlight relevant information to define devices and services.

The Proposal Engineer is responsible for the preparation and preparation of technical proposals, including definition of deliverables and guarantees, definition of scope of delivery and services, review of overall layout and process P&ID, and definition of technical definitions.

Clarifications and deviations from bids.

The Quotation Engineer updates the technical quotation and follows up on changes to the cost estimate based on clarifying discussions with all parties.

The quotation engineer is responsible for negotiating with the customer to prepare the technical documentation for the final contract.

To complete this order, the quotation engineer coordinates and manages with the support of the relevant departments (electrical, mechanical, thermal, process). , instrumentation, quality control...), all bid preparation and bid strategy activities to meet technical optimization, cost estimating, scheduling and risk management requirements.

Work with estimating department to verify solution weight and cost.

Ensure the quality of proposals by reviewing and evaluating them against business needs, contract issues and business risks.

Identify and manage risks and opportunities associated with proposed projects, defining remediation and avoidance strategies.

Provide general support in developing and maintaining processes, standards and procedures to ensure consistent proposal execution.

Be proactive in the Return of Experience process: meet with executive and engineering teams to analyze, standardize, and implement REX.

Assist Sales Managers to cost-effectively adhere to bid plans and workflows.

Assist management in coordinating resources such as engineering, sales, drafting/design, and estimating to develop technical and commercial proposals that adhere to company standards and meet customer needs.

Ensure that fair market prices are used to determine project costs.

After order is awarded, support all departments as needed.

Master's degree in Engineering; at least three years' experience in mechanical industry, HRSG, boiler.

Priority will be given to those with more than ⚠ years of experience in implementing capital goods projects in the energy sector.

Must be able to effectively read and understand mechanical, electrical and process drawings.

Technical orientation with knowledge of mechanical engineering and mechanical and thermal processes.

Good oral and written communication skills.

Ability to explain and defend technical solutions and recommendations to potential clients.

Attention to detail, with excellent organizational and time management skills.

You have a strong and autonomous personality and are interested in working independently in a multinational environment as well as in collaboration with our team in Belgium.

Be a good problem solver.

Can accept temporary short-term overseas assignments.

Fluent English ability. French is an advantage.

You are proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel (spreadsheets, charts/graphs, macros).
