As a Vehicle Certification Project Engineer focusing on sustainability and environmental technologies (M/F/X), you will play a vital role in shaping the future of mobility. They are responsible for ensuring that electric vehicles, hydrogen vehicles and fuel cell technologies meet the highest regulatory compliance standards and focus on sustainability and environmental impact throughout their life cycle.
Key areas of focus:
- Compliance with new battery regulations: You will be responsible for ensuring that battery manufacturers, importers, and retailers comply with all requirements of the new battery regulations. This includes calculating a product’s carbon footprint, recycling content and monitoring the social and environmental impact of the supply chain.
- Promoting innovation in hydrogen and fuel cell development: You are at the forefront of innovation in hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, helping us develop more efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles. You are responsible for analyzing and evaluating new technologies and ensuring they meet all relevant legal compliance, safety and environmental standards.
- Compliance with Cybersecurity and Software Update Management System Requirements: You are responsible for ensuring that your vehicle complies with Global Recruitment regulations R⚠ and R⚠, which address compliance with the Cybersecurity and Software Update Management System requirements for automotive regulations. This includes conducting audits and creating documentation for these regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with operations managers and team members to develop and implement certification strategies for electric vehicles, hydrogen vehicles and fuel cell technologies.
- Manage activities within the European Type Approval System, Global Recruitment Regulations and the Sustainable Development and Environmental Technology Management System.
- Oversees approval testing, prepares application documents and issues official certificates for vehicles that meet established legal, sustainability and environmental standards.
- In cooperation with external partners, conduct audits and ensure compliance with applicable laws in the field of applied technologies, with a focus on sustainability and environmental technologies.
- Maintain close communication with stakeholders, including customers, government agencies and industry experts.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology or Environmental Technology Engineering.
- ⚠-⚠ years of automotive industry experience with a focus on sustainability and environmental technologies.
- Understand regulatory frameworks, industry standards and best practices for sustainability and environmental technologies.
- Candidates with quality system experience in the automotive field are preferred.
- Eager to learn and understand the latest developments in sustainability and environmental technology.
- Excellent communication skills in English and other languages (Dutch or French).
- Ability to travel around the world as needed.
