Antwerp Region

The Antwerp Refinery is located in the port area and is integrated into the Performance Intermediates plant. Through ongoing investments large and small, Global Recruitment ensures that the refinery's facilities remain modern and efficient and that the refinery remains competitive. The Antwerp High Performance Intermediates plant is one of the largest and most modern liquid hydrocarbon production plants in Europe. The facility is fully integrated into the refinery as part of an initiative to maximize efficiency. The Meerhout Polymers plant is one of the largest LDPE manufacturers in Europe, supplying products to a wide range of industries. The plant is organizationally linked to the Zwijndrecht Polymers plant, which produces relatively small quantities of a special type of polyethylene.

Brussels Headquarters

The Brussels (Mechelen) office building houses Global Recruitment's regional headquarters for Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EMEA) and its European R&D technology center.

What you'll do

Antwerp Refinery

In this role at the Antwerp Refinery, you will be responsible for operating a portion of our production units and working closely with our operators, maintenance and technical experts. They strive to achieve optimal efficiency, cost-effectiveness and operational safety.

Global Recruitment

At Global Recruitment we are looking for passionate colleagues to join us as Process or Systems Engineers. Our production process is based on Global Recruitment's proprietary technology, in which ethylene gas is compressed to >⚠ bar before reacting in a reactor. The hot polymer is then cut into pellets (and packaged) and shipped to customers. Due to the wide variety of equipment, the technical difficulty of working at high air pressures, and the production of specialty grades, these manufacturing sites provide a challenging environment for engineers to learn and develop.

Careers

As part of our career progression system, your next role after two or three years may be to deepen your skills in another technical or project role, into a more "coordination" position such as managing energy consumption across a production site, or More commercial/coordination status. Business role. In the long term, depending on your preferences, skills and achievements, you can develop into an international technical or business expert or a more managerial career.

About you

Skills and qualifications

You have a Master's degree in Engineering (Burgerlijk Ingenieur) or a PhD in a related discipline (e.g. Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemical/Process Engineering Option, Catalytic Engineering). Fluent English skills: comprehension, reading, writing and speaking. Knowledge of Dutch is an advantage. Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. Well organized and able to multitask. Proactive and proactive with the ability to anticipate, identify and resolve potential issues. Effective leadership skills, including using influence without direct formal authority. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds to develop innovative solutions.
