Policy Officer for European Works Councils and Company Policy

As Policy Officer on the European Working Committee and Corporate Policy, you will play a vital role in coordinating activities, developing policy and representing the ETF in various forums.
Main tasks coordination:
- Coordination and implementation of ETF guidance on EWC, EU transitional corporate law and due diligence.
- Support: Provide necessary support to Affiliates, EWC Members and the ETF Secretariat.
- Connectivity: Collaboration with Global Recruitment and other ETUFs.
- Corporate Network: Initiate and coordinate corporate networks in collaboration with relevant departments and the Global Recruitment and Secretariat.
- Meeting Management: Organize, attend and host meetings and work closely with dedicated assistants to ensure effective follow-up.
- Research: Carry out in-depth relevant research.
- SPOC: Be the direct point of contact for all partners and address their concerns.
- Policy: Draft policy documents, reports, position papers, etc.
- Representation: Ensures ETF participation with external bodies and represents the ETF when needed.
- Database: Create survey database, collect input, and prepare for analysis.
- EU funding: submission and implementation of EU co-funded projects.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with ETF division and communications officers.
Educational background: Master's degree in Industrial Relations or EU Law or Political Science or Sociology.
Experience: Minimum ⚠ years of trade union experience and knowledge of European industrial relations and expertise in European works councils and/or company policies are essential.
Values: A strong commitment to the union’s values.
Language skills: Fluent in English.
Communication: Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to summarize complex information.
Initiative: Highly proactive, independent and adaptable with the ability to work effectively in a small team.
IT Knowledge: Use MS Office with confidence.
Travel: Willingness and ability to travel ⚠/⚠ times per month.

Recruitment process
- Online interview with external interviewer. Personality/performance test followed by practical tasks on EBR topics.
- Personal interview with Secretary General (your future manager) Danny Temmerman and Head of Operations for Central and Eastern Europe and Gender Josef Maurer (ETF provides reasonable travel expenses for applicants who are not in Brussels). A decision will be made within one week of the second interview.
