Global Recruitment is seeking a Senior Policy Advisor to join its global public policy and business development team. Global Recruitment's policy team supports the company's goals by engaging key stakeholders across a broad range of policy platforms, including legislative, community, business development and regulatory affairs, to support electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles, charging infrastructure, solar, Manufacturing and deployment. The Senior Policy Advisor will be responsible for policy and regulatory work in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia and the Pacific, and the EU and United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN-ECE). The Senior Policy Advisor also manages policy and initial business development by sourcing, responding to and evaluating potential local and regional business relationships and partnerships. This position is based in Brussels and flexible travel is expected.
Your mission:
- Plan the development of relevant regulations and standards and negotiate policy proposals at international, regional and national levels, with a particular focus on automation, safety and system certification.
- Explore and develop joint security-related projects with academia and government across EMEA and Asia-Pacific.
- Work with state and regional leaders to participate in and influence the rulemaking and legislative drafting process.
- Develop and maintain relationships with public, technical and security authorities.
- Interface with technology and other internal stakeholders.
- Constituent contributions.
Minimum of ⚠ years of relevant public policy activity experience, with a proven track record of working with public, technology and security agencies to drive key policy initiatives. In-depth knowledge of type approval regulations and drafting of EU/UN rules. Solid technical understanding of technical and non-technical vehicle automation and safety concepts, with the ability to translate the meaning of specific requirements.
You are a detail-oriented, well-organized self-starter with the ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary backgrounds. You manage yourself and are committed to working in a fast-paced environment across time zones. You have excellent business communication skills and near-native fluency in English (written and spoken). Additional European languages are an advantage.
