We are looking for a Model-Based Design Engineer for our client, a leader in the automotive industry. Your job is to model and predict powertrain performance in the area of structural dynamics: durability and NVH. Supported by ongoing academic research and state-of-the-art finite element software, electric powertrain components and systems must be analyzed virtually.
Your task:
- Develop numerical development and evaluation tools: standardization of virtual development processes.
- Modify existing electric drive models accordingly: increase functionality and prediction quality.
- Analysis of simulated and measured data: reliability assessment and trend extraction.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Five years of professional experience in numerical modeling, with extensive finite element knowledge.
- Numerical Computing: Creating numerical solutions by implementing algorithms.
- Structural Analysis: Apply finite element tools to predict structural dynamics.
- Powertrain Dynamics: Development and Application of Physical Models.
- Transmission system contact mechanics: knowledge of contact mechanics and tribology.
- A thorough understanding of structural dynamics and drivetrain mechanics is essential.
- You are able to work independently and be performance-oriented.
- A pragmatic approach that understands the trade-off between forecast accuracy and computational effort/time.
- Experience in experimental design is a great advantage.
- Proficiency in English and German is an advantage.
- Those with a driving license are preferred.
