About the role

As a member of Google's Government Affairs and Public Policy team, you will be part of a diverse global government affairs team across regions, product areas, and functions. You combine creativity and intellectual excellence with organizational skills to manage a variety of activities, projects and initiatives. In this role, you will work to ensure that Google brings outside perspectives back to the company to influence our perceptions and direction. They are excited about the opportunity to shape the future of how we use and develop technology for everyone.

The Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology Policy team within the GAPP Center of Excellence develops Google's view on public policy for artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies and serves as GAPP's emerging technology policy expert. We advise on the appropriate regulation of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies to enable their responsible use, and engage with policymakers and experts on these issues. We offer insights into additional public policies to support continued AI innovation. We support working with governments to develop innovative policies and demonstrate how AI can be used to solve major social problems. Google takes seriously its responsibilities, including working with governments and other stakeholders on important policy challenges. The Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team leads the firm's work with executive branch officials, legislators, regulators and third parties to develop public policy. The General Administration of Press and Publication works closely with Google executives to identify important policy issues, listen carefully to the views and opinions of others, and refine and share the company's views on these issues with external stakeholders. As we focus on the challenges affecting the Internet, our topic areas continue to expand to include many areas at the intersection of public policy, economics, and technology.
