Purpose of the position: In this role, you will join our young and dynamic team and have the Global Recruitment opportunity to streamline the consolidation and reporting activities of our companies around the world, provide financial reporting advice and meet regulatory reporting requirements within the organization. Explain the business background . They are based at the Leuven headquarters and report to the Global Director of Reporting and Financial Compliance. You support the company by preparing and reviewing quarterly, annual and consolidated financial statements, performing related financial analyses, and assisting with ad hoc financial and regulatory reporting. You will work with the wider financial reporting team in Leuven (Belgium) and Campinas (Brazil) as well as other group functions such as Financial Controlling, Group Tax, Group Finance, Investor Relations and Internal Controls.
Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities in accordance with group financial reporting schedules and SOX control requirements; prepare, maintain and execute consolidated general ledger accounts and financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, capital expenditure plan, intercompany schedules) Reconciliation;
- Conduct financial audit of Regional Finance Director's reporting templates;
- Continuous improvement process and standardize monthly reporting process;
- Lead/participate in various financial projects in the group reporting area, including development, testing and introduction of new consolidated and internal group reporting;
- Management Relations with external auditors, coordinating routine quarterly and annual review requests;
- Assist with resolving legal accounting issues; maintain and improve the Group Accounting Manual to ensure consistency and clarity of application; support financial reporting compliance across the Group and provide technical accounting guidance on any changes to IFRS and their impact on the business.
- Collaborate with wider stakeholders across local and international audit, tax, finance, investor relations, internal controls and other non-finance teams.
Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, fluent in English; more than ⚠ years of working in the financial environment of a Big Four accounting firm or a business group, with a special interest in accounting standards under IFRS rules; extensive technical accounting experience and knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards Qualified accountant; familiar with financial systems (SAP, Cognos) and advanced Excel skills; strong analytical skills; able to communicate complex financial information to a wide audience; well organized and willing to challenge the status quo; a natural collaborator and team player with strong Strong stakeholder management and partnership skills, with the ability to initiate and moderate discussions in an international working environment; the ability to maintain a high level of performance in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
