Key Account Manager Benelux


About the role:

You will be the primary point of contact for our clients and be responsible for managing the entire relationship. You can increase the volume and profits of the client portfolio for which you are responsible. Success in achieving these goals depends heavily on excellent teamwork, so you need to be a true communicator. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the entire company, provide advice to other departments (R&D, Technical Support, Customer Service Organization) and be responsible for contributing to customer satisfaction and successful implementation of business opportunities. To achieve your goals, it's critical to understand exactly where and how you can deliver value to your customers based on their business models, and then lead the BC team to follow that value creation strategy. Distribute sales leads, customer feedback, and competitor activity information to appropriate contacts within the organization, allowing them to respond to changing market conditions and customer needs. Create an annual business plan and prioritize and plan your own activities to achieve these goals. Creating value for our customers by driving innovation and working with them to expand our professional product portfolio is key to sustained, long-term value creation. Focus, perseverance and creativity are the main engines driving this momentum.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Within functional areas, provide policies to achieve business objectives for in-scope accounts.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with these accounts and work with Sales Manager and other departments to develop account plans.
  • Empower, motivate and inspire internal stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
  • Execute sales activities to achieve sales budgets and targets within the sales territory to achieve commercial objectives: Follow up on sales leads; conduct regular customer visits; assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services; respond to customer inquiries; negotiate prices and delivery times and sign sales contracts to achieve sales targets.
  • Recommends sales improvements and new ways to reach actual and potential customers within the sales territory.
  • Actively communicate goals, customers, and product availability regularly to the sales team, managers, and other departments within the organization.
  • Actively develop and maintain new and existing customer relationships and ensure professional Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
  • Comply with internal rules and commercial laws when negotiating and concluding contracts with customers.
  • Ensure knowledge and expertise within subject areas are kept up to date and relevant.
  • Verify the accuracy and appropriateness of data used and ensure data output is relevant and of high quality, such as B. reporting and analysis.
  • Actively communicate market/customer information and feedback to managers and colleagues as well as other relevant departments.
  • Actively expand your own knowledge and expertise and ensure awareness of global BC organizations.

About you:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Economics, Business Administration, or Sales and Marketing.
  • Knowledge of the chocolate/food industry is an advantage.
  • Fluent in English + local language.
  • Be open to frequent business travel.
  • ⚠ years of relevant sales professional experience, preferably in the food industry (B⚠B)
  • Business skills (presentations, discussions, negotiations)
