Discipline Engineer Instrumentation and Process Control Role

Responsible for all instrumentation and process control within or across individual subprojects. Work with all relevant parties (engineering companies, OEMs, existing departments, etc.) to design, develop and integrate instrumentation and control systems for various industrial processes in green primary projects.

  • Selecting appropriate sensors, actuators and control hardware to achieve the required target system performance is based on:
    • Understanding best practices and best applications for instrumentation
    • Understanding calibration requirements and standards
    • Understanding the correct setup of instruments for measurement and maintenance purposes, etc.
    • Points of application (linearity, operability, actuator type, etc.) of the valves within the system ensure that all instrumentation and control systems comply with AO's relevant safety standards and industry regulations.
  • Runs in SIS and ATEX.
  • Participate in security assessments (e.g. HAZOP,...) and risk assessments of new and existing systems.
  • Educate operations and maintenance teams on the proper use, troubleshooting, and maintenance of these systems during and after project implementation.
  • Prepare technical documents, reports, and presentations to communicate progress and results.
  • Assist with construction execution plans to ensure actual seamless installation of instruments and process control design and flawless commissioning.
  • Support during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Works as an Engineer in the Electrical Engineering Discipline. It is best to have a thorough understanding of the high voltage field.
  • Responsible for the electrical integrity of each sub-project.
  • Design/inspect electrical systems, electrical panels and control panels in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Perform technical analysis and calculations to ensure the efficiency and safety of power systems.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines (e.g. mechanical engineers) to develop integrated project solutions.
  • Lead technical reviews and resolve electrical issues throughout the project.
  • Liaise with suppliers and select suitable electrical components.
  • Provide detailed documentation and reports to internal teams and clients.
  • Review relevant documentation from the engineering office, OEM, or construction company.

Requirements for the Position

  • You have a technical master's degree in a related field.
  • You have at least ⚠ years of experience in a similar position in the discipline.
  • You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in an international team.
  • You have strong problem-solving skills.
  • You have experience with advanced simulation tools, CAD software, and technical analysis methods.
