Hardware Engineer - Pozyx
Pozyx offers the most flexible real-time location system (RTLS) for indoor and outdoor positioning to locate people, equipment and assets in Industry ⚠.⚠ and increase efficiency and productivity in manufacturing and logistics. The recently launched Pozyx platform is a future-proof asset tracking and identification solution for seamless indoor and outdoor tracking, built on Omlox Hub and supporting multiple positioning technologies. The Pozyx platform is designed for smart manufacturing and provides supply chain solutions that support Industry ⚠.⚠. It tracks and identifies every asset and provides real-time data to mitigate operational issues, improve operational efficiency, increase productivity and improve workflow performance. These use cases are defined to provide transparency and valuable insights into WIP, workforce efficiency, supply chain and space utilization. It helps with storage and inventory control, tracking reusable packaging and critical tools, and reducing the cost of asset losses.
Hardware Engineer: As a Hardware Designer, you will be a member of the hardware design team and contribute to the implementation of our hardware roadmap and the expansion of our existing product portfolio. You will acquire relevant technologies that may bring unique hardware selling points to our company, conduct proof-of-concepts (based on development kits) and communicate the results to the product control group. You will create schematics focusing on overall system consumption (battery-powered and non-battery-powered devices), size, speed, scalability, and environmental impact (green design). You collaborate with external companies, interact with different disciplines (e.g. product design companies, injection molding companies, etc.) and work with all of them to develop a solid overall hardware product. You will interact with firmware and algorithm teams to define hardware test strategies, perform necessary hardware tests to validate mixed designs (analog and digital components), and draw conclusions. They strive for first-time success. You create technical documentation and control/manage hardware certification (pre-compliance and compliance) through external laboratories. You will keep a close eye on the overall manufacturability of your hardware products and provide support to external EMS partners during the launch of first prototypes and pilot production. You will ensure a smooth handover of hardware products to the Pozyx operations team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Explore and analyze relevant technologies and hardware components.
- Conduct a proof of concept and outline recommendations.
- Define hardware test strategy and manufacturability (DfX).
- List hardware components and define (initial) product costs.
- Create schematic (Altium).
- Debugged, verified hardware and wrote hardware verification reports for (first) prototypes.
- List and maintain technical product documentation.
- Full hardware certification.
- Create and implement hardware test systems.
- Interact with Pozyx team members and external companies.
- You have a master's degree in electrical engineering.
- You have at least ⚠ years of professional experience.
- Experience in (hybrid) hardware design (a mix of analog and digital electronics).
- Knowledge of battery powered design and Altium is a plus.
- Fluent communication skills (written and oral) in English and Dutch.
- Well organized, careful and a team player.
- Pursue excellence and strive for a win-win situation.
- The way of thinking is objective, pragmatic and practical.
- Desire to grow yourself, your team and your company.
