We seek an experienced professional with Government Affairs (GA) experience to augment the ⚠M-s EMEA team of experts in the EU ( Institutions in Brussels, Belgium and the Netherlands). This position is dedicated to the director of EMEA Government Affairs (and Sustainability) and provides a means to transition from other occupations, including public, private or government-based, to a ⚠M career. The position is located in Brussels. As a Government Affairs Manager (m/f/*) for the EU and Benelux, you will have the opportunity to explore your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most creative and diverse individuals on the planet. Here, you'll have an effect by: implementing Government Affairs initiatives with the EU and Benelux governments that focus on enhancing and protecting the company's reputation and results. Watching and advocating on important legislative matters, the government positions and decisions, and actively seeking information from and advising internal decision makers regarding risks, opportunities and actions to take. Particular attention to the Green Deal's implementation (e.g. environmental laws, circular economy, and corporate oversight). Creating policy documents, responses, comments and other research that is submitted to EU institutions and government bodies in the Benelux and national regions regarding public policy. Providing counsel, guidance and support to the leadership of GA and the management regarding all government-related matters and endeavors, including those related to ESG, including public policies regarding the subject. Working closely with the government and business owners to identify potential opportunities for growth via government-related initiatives; increasing the ⚠M's profile and reputation with important stakeholders. Creating and maintaining relationships with important external participants and stakeholders in the EU and the Benelux governments as well as in industry associations. This will lead to effective results and accomplishments. Acting as the Point of Contact for compliance and working alongside the Ethics and compliance teams to achieve the highest level of ethical standards and to have compliance with the FCPA in all activities. To begin with, ⚠M requires a college degree in either Politics, Law or Economics. extensive government relations experience. A comprehensive understanding of the policy-making processes of the EU and the BENELUX countries (primarily Belgium and The Netherlands). Fluent in English and Flemish/Dutch, and having a basic level of French and German. Effective networks in the relevant institutions of the EU and in the BENELUX countries (+ abilities in developing alliances). Previous employment experience in these 🔗 Effective communicator in all departments with a good degree of interpersonal skill and the capacity to communicate complex political issues both internally and externally. strategic thinking and strong analytical abilities that allow them to quickly assimilate the various aspects of a political, legal, or regulatory issue. Team player that can collaborate on their own and manage projects for BGs/ divisions and other corporate functions. Committed to ethics and transparency. Other qualifications that could enhance your success in this role include: a master's degree or mba degree, or any other advanced degree is beneficial. Public Policy Experience including Crisis Management.
