About the role

Do you have exceptional abilities to negotiate and build relationships? If this is the case, we invite you to participate in our team as an Energy Portfolio Explorer. This pivotal role is part of the Energy & Utilities team, located in the Business Unit Base Chemicals in Mechelen (Belgique). In this capacity, you will report to the Group Energy & Utilities Sourcing Manager and will have a pivotal role in the optimization of Global Recruitment' comprehensive energy portfolio, which includes Power, Gas, CO⚠, and Green Certificates. Your duties will involve developing creative strategies to maximize the value of your assets, covering short and medium term contracts, and following the company's risk strategy.

Day-to-day optimization

• Risk management - Manage and execute transactions in power, gas, CO⚠ allowances and green power/CHP licenses, trading and hedging in accordance with the risk mandate and strategy
• Flexibility - Proactively evaluate and implement demand side management. Prepare business cases and implementation plans associated with energy or other commodities, including physical and financial instruments. You're aware of the principles of hedging, risk management and a love of commerce. You're able to analyze data effectively, you can consume large amounts of information and take important pieces of it. Other than being a good team member, you can also serve under high stress and be open to change processes and projects. Ultimately, you must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
