For our client, a market leader in the automotive industry, we are looking for an electric vehicle simulation assistant. As a member of the Model-Based Design team, you will contribute to the research and development of innovative digital tools and processes for electric vehicles. Specifically, you will develop methods in the areas of system-level (high-level) control and simulation.

As a member of the Model-Based Design team, responsibilities include:

• Vehicle and powertrain model development and model improvement (accuracy)
• Method development: model-based calibration methods; identification of model parameters
• Applying the developed methods helps to increase the efficiency of the vehicle development process and identify new development opportunities
• Organize and monitor test activities for model and/or process validation using dedicated test rigs or vehicles
• Analyze and interpret data to draw conclusions and determine next steps of action
• Communicate with relevant departments of TME and TMC (Japan), report on the process, and clarify project requirements

You have a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Control Engineering. ⚠+ years of (relevant) experience in the automotive field with a specific control/simulation orientation. Gain an in-depth understanding of drive systems available on the market as well as BEV thermal management systems and how they work. Knowledge/experience in dealing with ML (Machine Learning) or AI (Artificial Intelligence) is a big advantage.

Strong analytical skills, persistence, autonomy and the ability to work in teams in a hybrid format (office and remote). A tireless problem solver with an intellectual curiosity and drive to delve into technical facts, challenging the obvious and willing to explore unknown territories.

Computer skills required: MS Office, Matlab, Simulink, Simcenter Amesim, any other software skills are a big advantage (Python, ASCMO, automation and design exploration software like ModeFrontier or HEEDS, etc.). Ability to communicate clearly at all levels and visually summarize progress. Fluent English skills (writing, reading and speaking). Any other European language is an advantage.
