Datacenter Technician


Overview:

As a Global Recruitment Data Center Technician (DCT), you will prepare, set up, and perform hardware deployments. In addition, you will troubleshoot and diagnose equipment according to standard operating procedures and perform hardware shutdowns to make simple changes and updates. Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent, plus working knowledge of computer hardware and components and experience using IT equipment or related technology.
  • Ability to work shifts, including shift assignments during non-standard work hours (which may include evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and/or holidays).

Background Check Requirements:

This role requires the ability to meet Global Recruitment, customer and/or government security clearance requirements. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specific security clearances:

  • Global Recruitment Cloud Background Check: This position must pass a Global Recruitment Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Although not required, we also seek the following preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with IT equipment or related technology.
  • Applicable certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structural Cabling (BSC).

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting according to standard operating procedures to quickly determine the cause of problems and replace failed components with minimal disruption to customers and business.
  • Perform post-execution quality checks and verify that grounding, deployment, labeling, and cabling are properly established according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDT).
  • Retire hardware for simple changes and updates (e.g., memory expansion, rebuilding) by following standard procedures and minimal guidance.
  • Follow procedures for communicating, reporting, and escalating incidents to the appropriate Global Recruitment Data Center Operations Management, Engineering Managers, and Technical Specialists.
  • Assist and guide other technicians in completing difficult or complex tasks.
  • Complete required training appropriate to role and workload; observe more experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience and relevant on-the-job training.
  • Contribute to a positive and effective team environment by sharing information with others, attending regular team meetings, asking questions, and staying informed about the work status of others.
