You observe and communicate what is most beneficial to the customer. You help fellow salespeople by resolving technical issues that are important to our customers. You communicate with the product marketing and engineering teams in order to stay aware of the industry's trends and propose improvements to Google Cloud products.

As a member of the Database Customer Engineering team for Google Cloud, you will assist our customers in transitioning from their previous database portfolios to the Google Cloud platform. You will preface and address the major technical issues for our customers in close association with Marketing teams. Additionally, you will work with the Product and Engineering teams to stay aware of the industry's trends and to actively propose improvements to Google's Cloud products.

Work with the team to identify and categorize potential business uses for database migrations. Understand the primary customer's business and technical concerns, and develop strategies and proposals to assist their migration. Inspire customers and peers to participate in difficult problems with ambitious and innovative solutions. This includes the briefing of products and solutions, the proof of concept, and the coordination of technical resources.

Design the intended architecture and the migration strategy that is minimized in the effort, risk, and downtime associated with migration. Work with customers to demonstrate and prototype the capabilities of the Google Cloud database in customer/ partner environments, and visit customer locations, conferences, and other events as appropriate.

Recommendation strategies, enterprise architecture, platforms, and application programming interfaces that are necessary to complete solutions utilizing the most effective practices on Google Cloud. Experience driving growth, resolving issues, and mentoring less experienced team members; more profound knowledge and practical application of relevance.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Six years of experience with NoSQL database technologies, administration tools, and performance tuning.
• Experience with the migration of PostgreSQL data and understanding of modern/cloud-based approaches to application development.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with technical sales or professional counseling in system integration.
• Utilization of effective database strategies for operational or analytical tasks.
• Understanding cloud-based database architecture and implementation, including distributed data technologies.
• Knowledge of DevOps principles, database automation, regression testing, disaster recovery, and data backup.

The capacity to learn, comprehend, and collaborate with new methods, technologies, and solutions in the space of Cloud/IT.
