Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with operating systems and network protocols.
  • Experience with computer hardware and server hardware or troubleshooting/diagnostics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with maintenance and upkeep monitoring server systems.
  • Experience in a data center or network operations center environment.
  • Linux operating system experience.
  • Project management and leadership experience.
  • Ability to work with a team to solve problems.

About the Job

As a Data Center Technician, you will install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware (such as servers and their components) and server software (such as Google's Linux clusters). You will work on configuring components such as networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches, and network protocols. They also participate in installations or lead project teams and develop project contingency plans. Additionally, you will be involved in manual movement and installation of racks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead troubleshooting and resolving upgraded technical issues on affected equipment.
  • Contribute to and lead data center infrastructure deployment, maintenance and support efforts/projects.
  • Assist in testing and troubleshooting server hardware components and designs.
  • Configure and troubleshoot operating system issues on servers.
