Configuration Engineer, Sustainable Packaging Europe


EU Sustainable Packaging Configuration Engineers are the first point of contact for field operational issues and opportunities, providing direct troubleshooting or idea refinement support to operations, SMEs (subject matter experts) and key stakeholders. You can also maintain internal configuration setup processes and documentation for sustainable EU packaging. The successful candidate will lead the Box Web configuration and review process, be responsible for communicating workflow status internally and externally, and be responsible for system upgrades.

The Support Engineer owns the Change Management System (SNGH Connect) and is responsible for ensuring that the SNGH Connect process is always followed before any changes are made. In addition, they provide operational insights to the technical team and work with them to develop advanced and intuitive automation solutions for our systems. The successful candidate will be highly detail-oriented and well organized, have strong data mining and modeling skills, and be able to facilitate ideation and work from concept to execution. You will also possess strong customer service skills and be able to communicate verbally and in writing with cross-functional stakeholders including Senior Operations Managers, Procurement, Transportation and other partners. You are proactive, adaptable to uncertainty, and thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

Finally, the ideal candidate must have a strong focus on internal customers, a professional demeanor, and a high level of intellectual curiosity that drives him to quickly educate himself on new operational concepts, algorithms, and techniques as changes occur. Your key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Owning Box provisioning standard processes and change management tools
  • Managing the setup of existing and new buildings
  • Become a subject matter expert on Box's recommended configuration system
  • Root cause research to identify process disruptions within the department and provide data by using a variety of skills to find solutions to disruptions, process improvements, creation of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and metrics, and internally published system and process documentation
  • M&B Services business analysis and collaboration with M&B Services Fulfillment Technology, SMB and Fulfillment Center Operations Managers
  • Responsible for developing, improving, automating, and managing business models
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Ability to collaborate with the M&B Services Fulfillment Technology (AFT) team by providing detailed roadblocks and operational details to the team
  • Ability to effectively identify and resolve detailed technical issues
  • Excellent communication skills (AFT) Written and verbal)
  • Evaluate data in existing databases (SQL Server, Redshift, Oracle DW) to provide timely, concise updates and results to cross-functional customers
  • Support internal teams as needed to support initiatives

Basic qualifications:

  • Have program or project management experience
  • Experience working cross-functionally with non-technical teams
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Learn about Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) with advanced level and SQL experience in defining program requirements and using data and metrics to identify improvements
  • Experience using data and metrics to identify and drive improvements

Priority Qualifications:

  • Experience in stakeholder management with the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders at different levels of the organization
  • Experience with construction processes, project management and timelines
