Category Manager IT & Telecom, Pan EU


What you will be:

A high-performing, focused, cost- and service-focused procurement team, you will own a key subcategory and be responsible for developing and implementing category strategy in partnership with internal stakeholders. The main objective is to support Global Recruitment’s digital transformation, optimize procurement costs and processes, and ensure the quality and security of supply of all materials and services purchased in the category using a total cost of ownership approach. Additionally, this position is responsible for driving the development and improvement of CRS through the supplier community, supporting Global Recruitment goals, and identifying and implementing category projects to increase cost and CRS benefits.

  • Execute an end-to-end procurement plan in accordance with ⚠SSP (Seven Step Procurement Process)
  • Play a leading role in understanding business needs, developing supplier negotiation strategies and executing negotiations in partnership with internal stakeholders, CEPG (Cross-Enterprise Purchasing Group) and The Global Recruitment
  • Optimize supplier performance, execute RFI/RFP, negotiate and manage contracts
  • Deliver delivery agreements against strategic objectives to ensure delivery of optimal business results
  • Drive product optimization and coordination initiatives

Finance

  • Achieve cost savings through negotiation and implementation of cost reduction projects
  • Create and maintain a competitive advantage for Global Recruitment by achieving the lowest possible total procurement cost
  • Provide optimal cost management through accurate, timely reporting and compliance with contract and entitlement chart processes
  • Accurately report savings and provide budget pricing for service costs
  • Provide forecast budgets and ensure any variances and potential business impact are fully communicated as early as possible
  • Meet or exceed procurement business plan assumptions

Innovation

  • Initiate necessary business decisions to generate operational and financial benefits
  • Develop creative, agile and value-based procurement strategies
  • Enable and leverage supplier service innovation to provide Global Recruitment with a competitive advantage and reduce costs

Sustainability

  • Improve category CRS performance by partnering with suppliers and identifying additional CRS channel opportunities
  • Ensure suppliers are approved and comply with TCCC Supplier Guidelines
  • Delivery risk and continuity. Develop business plans for all relevant components and services and ensure implementation in close coordination with other functions (e.g. IT) and the Global Recruitment (CEPG)

Regulatory and Social Responsibility

  • Work with business stakeholders and legal departments to develop supply agreements and ensure contract approval processes comply with Global Recruitment authoritative policies
  • Ensure transparent communication of procurement metrics through the use of established key performance indicators
  • Manage the risk of legal action for infringement of intellectual property rights
  • Serve as a central reference point for best practice guidance for other “buy-side” parties throughout the Global Recruitment
  • Ensure implementation and compliance with Global Recruitment policies and compliance with business standards
  • Establish processes for measuring compliance and reporting on company commitments

What we expect from you

  • Minimum ⚠ years of procurement experience required, preferably in IT and Telecommunications. Experience in an international FMCG environment is an advantage
  • The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong influencing and facilitation skills, as well as the ability to find creative solutions to client needs and manage competing work demands
  • Good communication skills (ability to influence senior management)
  • Experience negotiating complex, high volume contracts, preferably in the IT category
  • Ability to evaluate problems analytically and commercially
  • Strong project and change management skills
  • Demonstrated strong client experience orientation, personal development and leadership skills
  • University degree/relevant professional qualifications by gender, age or ethnicity
