W&V Team is seeking a customer-centric, analytics and technology savvy Business Intelligence Engineer to drive effective performance measurement and management, innovation and execution of last mile delivery. This position will be responsible for leading the BIE team in developing analytical and visualization tools and processes to support our growing W&V Team business in Europe and globally. The successful candidate will be able to effectively retrieve, integrate, visualize and present critical data to improve the efficiency of package delivery networks and enable efficient management of large global logistics systems. This individual will work with technical and business teams to optimize planning, execution and process improvements, and track progress against goals. This position requires an individual with excellent analytical skills, excellent business acumen, and experience working with technical teams and systems. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, has a keen eye for detail, and enjoys working with large amounts of data.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders across multiple teams to gather requirements and deliver complete solutions. Work with Data Engineering and Software Development Engineers to prioritize and define AMZL data and BI development needs. Work with internal scientists, global supply chain, transportation and logistics teams to identify new BI capabilities and projects Conduct in-depth research on operational execution and business issues, identify opportunities and lead or support implementation (role varies by context). Analyze and visualize rich geospatial logistics and transaction data to identify user behavior or delivery process issues and generate robust analytical reports with recommendations. You will act as a liaison between WW's planning and analysis team and the operational business team to achieve the goal of providing actionable insights into current delivery performance and conducting ad hoc research into future improvements or innovations. This requires collecting and processing data, synthesizing and modeling, solving problems, and communicating findings and recommendations. Develop queries and visualizations for ad hoc queries and projects as well as ongoing reporting.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data using DV&C Experts, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • Experience in data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience in data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines.
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries.
  • Experience with statistical analysis software packages such as R, SAS, and Matlab.
  • Experience using SQL to retrieve data from a database or data warehouse, and experience writing scripts (Python) to process data for modeling purposes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using AWS solutions such as EC⚠, DynamoDB, S⚠, and DV&C Experts
  • Experience with data mining, ETL, etc., and experience working with databases in business environments with large, complex data sets
