SGS Statutory Services Belgium vzw is part of the statutory services division of SGS Group Belgium. This division is primarily responsible for the inspection of construction cranes, excavators, aerial work platforms, and other equipment related to construction, such as storage tanks, pipelines, and pressure equipment. The service package also includes safety supervision, expertise, or audits in areas such as machine and fire safety, constructions, green energy.

We are currently looking for a Lifting Equipment Inspector for this business unit:

  • Responsibility for the inspection of lifting equipment (port and gantry cranes, mobile cranes).
  • Ensuring transportation of goods via train, forklift, or other means for our clients in the West and East Flanders region.
  • Conducting site visits at the customer's location and preparing a report of the inspection.

As you progress, you will gain more knowledge in your field. You will communicate directly with the team manager of the Lifting Equipment discipline. You will leave home daily to visit various customers. Every few months, you will come to the office for general updates, reporting, administrative tasks, meetings, etc. You will be the local representative of SGS for our customer.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanics / Electromechanics or similar through experience.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, enjoy working independently, and spending time on technical files.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in MS Office package (Word, Excel, ...)
  • Holder of a driver's license B and residing in the territory of Flanders.
